Choosing a classroom theme can be quite overwhelming. In the age of Pinterest and Instagram, there are unlimited resources and ideas to choose from. Some teachers stick with the same theme for years. Then there are teachers like me, I change my theme just about every year! I will reveal my 2019-2020 school year theme at the very end of this post, so keep reading.
My classroom theme begins in the craft paper aisle at Micheals. I look at all of the craft paper and choose a combination that sparks inspiration. Simply put, I let the craft paper tell me what my theme will be.
Then, I would head to my favorite decor stores and search for accessories. Its amazing how quickly things come together since I already picked my color scheme.
The next part is my favorite! This is the crafting stage. In this stage I will create bulletin board headers, basket labels, & much, much more!

Farmhouse classroom decor is so perfect because each year I read Charlotte’s Web & Babe The Gallant Pig to my class. The setting of each story is on a farm… so why shouldn’t our classroom fit the part?
