Did you know that being a teacher involves decor? Teachers have to purchase the items that turn their classrooms into beautifully decorated and organized spaces. It takes planning, hard work, and the one thing we all lack… funds! Although teachers get paid very little, they always make room in the budget for classroom decor, organizational options and supplies! Bulletin Boards
Every classroom begins with bare bulletin boards just waiting to be covered with backing paper and border. This makes a huge impact in any room because it brings in color, dimension, & style!
My classroom has an orange accent wall (not my fave color) that has the Smart Board, two bulletin boards, and two white boards in my classroom. I plan to cover the orange wall with White Wood Better than Paper Rolls and use the Buffalo Check paper on the bulletin boards with the brown corrugated bordette. The white boards will be divided into four sections with black ribbon. Below are a list of items I purchased & images to give you an idea of what it will look like.
- Five White Wood Better Than Paper Rolls
- One White Brick Better Than Paper Roll
- Brown Corrugated Bordette
- Black Buffalo Check Wrapping Paper
- Woodland Whimsy Wood Grain Straight Border
- Brown Wrapping Paper
Organizational Items
Organization is an integral part of any classroom. There are tons of materials that need to be stored. The items shown below will be used in various places throughout the classroom. Most of the items were purchased at Marshalls & Hobby Lobby.
- The wood crates will be used to store extra paper, glue sticks, & pencils.
- The small caddies will hold the pencils, glue sticks, & highlighters for each table.
- The 3 metal buckets will be used to hold tickets.
- The two metal buckets will be used to hold sharp and dull pencils.
Decor Items
Decor items are the EXTRA things that will make your classroom say FARMHOUSE! These items are not needed for your class to function & purchasing decor items doesn’t make you a phenomenal teacher, but it does create a home away from home that is cozy & comfortable.
Well, there you have it. The items I purchased for my farmhouse classroom this year. I’d love to hear about your classroom theme. Comment and let me know! 🙂
