For a while, I thought I needed a change. I added blue to my home decor—soft powder blues, bold navy accents, a few patterned pieces to freshen things up. And while they were beautiful in theory, something about them never quite felt like me.

I’ve always been drawn to the calm of neutrals—taupe, brown, beige, gray, and black. There’s something grounding about these shades, especially when paired with textures like wood, linen, and metal. Add in gingham, florals, and a variety of subtle patterns, and it creates a space that feels both cozy and lived-in, without demanding too much attention.

The blue, as lovely as it was, felt loud in a way I couldn’t ignore. It disrupted the quiet balance I crave in my home. Over time, I realized that decorating isn’t just about what looks pretty—it’s about how a space makes you feel. And I feel most at peace surrounded by warm neutrals and layers of texture that whisper, not shout.

So I’m slowly letting go of blue. Not out of regret, but as a gentle return to what truly works for me. There’s beauty in experimenting, and there’s just as much beauty in coming back home—to colors and pieces that reflect who I am and how I want to live.

Thanks for stopping by.
